Environmental Microbiology

The Environmental Microbiology Laboratory is designed as a versatile platform to support a broad range of tasks related to the study of microorganisms in the environment. The laboratory focuses on fundamental and applied research in the field of One Health approach to environmental and human health monitoring, culture-based and molecular biology, microbial biotechnologies. Techniques and existing infrastructure are designed to analyse a variety of environmental samples, with current emphasis on water and sediments from freshwater, raw and treated wastewater.
